Come by and discover the natural history of the Pajarito Plateau. We offer exhibits on rocks, fossils, plants, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and more. We have several live local animals for you to look at. Our herbarium offers help to those seeking to identify plants. If you'd like to explore Los Alamos's open space, then pick up a trail guide and stroll the nearby trails. For hours and directions, see Map to PEEC. PEEC Brochure: Brochure (PDF). AnimalsPEEC has a small collection of live animals on display, with an emphasis on local native species. The animals at PEEC are available for adoption: Animal Adoptions. LibraryPEEC maintains a library of several hundred books. Two comfortable reading areas are available for browsing. PEEC members may check out books for reading at home. The books in the library can be searched online: Library Search. HerbariumPEEC is the home of the Jemez Mountain Herbarium.
