PEEC Birders

Welcome to "PEEC Birders"! bird pic

Some of the reasons for forming this interest group within PEEC are:

  • to build a group of people interested birding,
  • to plan informal bird outings locally,
  • to plan and support exciting birding trips around New Mexico and out of state,
  • and to share local birding information and concerns.

How to join?

To join, go to PEEC Birders and request to join. The interest group communicates using Yahoo Groups. Membership in Yahoo Groups, and in the PEEC interest group, is free. If you do not already have a Yahoo account, you will be prompted to make one. Don't worry, no spam!

If you have any difficulties in joining, please contact the group moderators, Esta Lee (estalee@whalesail.com or 662-0788) or Heather (hkburke@pinonpc.com).

How does the group work?

Any member may log into the group through Yahoo and send messages that every member will receive. Or just send an email to the group address. In addition, the Yahoo Group can be used to post and view photos. We all have access to an event calendar and archived messages. Events and observations of interest to birders might sometimes appear only in the PEEC Birders group.

Why join PEEC?

Anyone in the group should be (or become) a member of PEEC. Membership in PEEC has many advantages, such as reduced fees for classes, discounts in the gift and book shop, quarterly newsletters, and the pleasure of helping to educate others about our natural world. Of particular interest, note that your support of PEEC also helps to continue the Park Flight program. And some of the observations of the PEEC Birding group will be written up in Nature Notes, which is only mailed to PEEC members.

The Birding Interest Group is about communication and enjoying birds. Join us and enrich your experiences with PEEC!
