Question:
Does the number of worms affect how fast surface plant material goes into the soil?

Worms are important to the food chain because they are decomposers.? Decomposers decompose dead animals and plants. This experiment sees how fast worms can decompose lettuce.

Hypothesis:
I predict that the more worms, the faster the lettuce will go down into the soil. I think this will happen because if all the worms are working on getting the lettuce down in the soil, the lettuce will go into the soil faster.

Conclusion:

I was right! The container with more worms in it, decomposed the lettuce faster.
