Field Science Curriculum

The Pajarito Plateau Field Science Curriculum (PPFS) is a hands-on, field science curriculum for grades K-6 that gets Los Alamos Public Schools students outside six times per year.
The curriculum was written by PEEC Educators Kelly Larson, Laura Dorius, Angelique Harshman, and Sue Watts. It was piloted at Mountain Elementary School in the 2011-2012 school year, with some lessons also piloted at Barranca, Chamisa and Aspen schools. In the summer of 2012, the curriculum will be edited and revised, and in the 2012-2013 school year, it will be offered to all LAPS K-6 teachers, with a special focus on Aspen and Chamisa schools. |
